Hello, my name is Roger Garrett.
If you’ve found this site that means we share a common hate towards taking on debt. Like you, I also long to one day be debt free and will not stop at anything in order to change my family’s legacy.
To be honest, I’m tired of having to paying other people or businesses just so I can provide the basics for my family. Getting rid of the home, car, student loan & furniture payments should provide my family with a paradigm shift that was one day unthinkable.
I’m sick of the excuse that, “people with money aren’t happy”. I’d sure like to try that situation out for myself. Now that I think about it, the statement is usually coming from someone with no money. To take advice from someone that hasn’t been in a situation you’re seeking advice on is my cardinal NO-NO in life. Unfortunately, I’ve been a big hypocrite when it came to that “unhappy money people” logic.
NO MORE! I have a plan and am ready to do something about my situation.
I realize that money isn’t everything but it opens doors for anyone that has it. So while family and God are most important in my life, I’m taking on this being financially independence as a hobby. Considering I’m a really competitive person by nature, I think it’ll be amazing to track my progress.
As I start this blog, I should first say that I’m NOT selling anything nor am I seeking anything from anyone other than solid advice, information and participation as we grow debt free together. And you should realize that this is no get rich quick scheme as this can and I expect to take years to complete. Having said that, one day we’ll all have one big group hug moment with the help of the RDL community.
